We know how much our pupils at Elm Academy love reading so we want to help them continue to develop their reading skills and passion for reading. Please find below links to websites where you and your children can access hundreds of reading books for free.
Reception – Year 3 pupils will be given a class login for this website, older pupils can create their own to access a wide range of books with adult supervision. These are appropriate for all reading abilities.
Here you will find a wide range of picture books for your children to enjoy.
This site is full of class children’s literature with the option to download the audio versions too.
You will find lots of recommendations for some excellent audio books on this website.
This website has a wide variety of genres, for example myths and legends, that your children can use to support their topic learning.
A range of books from other countries.
There are some excellent reading activities your child can complete.
If your child loves comics then this website has comic strips they can access and then questions related to the comics.
A number of classics, such as Roald Dahl, are on here in the form of audio books.
Please find below links to download some resources you may want to use after reading some of these books including book reviews, character descriptions and writing your own blurb. When you have completed these you can email them into school for your class teacher to see!
Remember you can also complete these sort of activities on your Purple Mash. This way your teacher will be able to see very quickly any learning you have completed linked to a book you have read.
